MCP server

Give your agent the UK insolvency record

An MCP server over every corporate insolvency notice in The Gazette. Your agent can check a supplier before it pays an invoice, or keep a watchlist current from a conversation.

  • One URL, one header
  • Same key as the API
  • Five tools, three of them free

Tools

Five tools your agent can call

ToolCostWhat it does
check_company 1 check Insolvency status and every Gazette notice for one company, by Companies House number. A missing leading zero is fine.
search_companies 1 check Companies with at least one notice whose name contains the text, newest first, up to 20. A company with no notice is not listed.
watch_company Free Add a company to your watchlist. You get an email and a webhook the day The Gazette publishes a new notice for it.
unwatch_company Free Remove a company from your watchlist.
list_watches Free The companies you watch, with your plan's watch limit.

Mid-conversation

What a check looks like to your agent

Simulated session for illustration. The response shape is the real one, filled with a company from today's record.

You

Before we pay the OUR DOGS PUBLISHING CO LTD invoice, check whether they are insolvent.

Agent

They entered liquidation on 14 October 2026, according to The Gazette. I would hold the payment and contact the officeholder named in the notice.

Questions

Before you connect

Which MCP clients work?

Any client that speaks MCP over HTTP and can send a header: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other agent frameworks. The server answers POST requests; it does not hold a long-lived stream open.

Do I need a separate key for MCP?

No. The key from your plan works for the JSON API and the MCP server, and checks come out of the same balance.

What does an agent see when a company has no notice?

found: false. The server's instructions tell every connected agent that no notice on record is not a clean bill of health, so it should not report the company as safe. The check still counts.

Can an agent build a watchlist from a conversation?

Yes. watch_company, unwatch_company and list_watches are free within your plan's watch limit, so an agent can keep the list current as you mention customers.

Your key is ready the moment checkout completes.

One key for the MCP server and the JSON API. Plans start at €19 a month.
